Emma Kern is an artist and photographer currently living and working out of Vancouver, BC. Born and raised in Millet, Alberta, she came to Vancouver to research. Her practice uses cameras, found photo, and digital manipulation to investigate place, landscape, and memory. Augmenting the connection between place and memory to create a visual Punctum- a moment where the viewer’s attention is poked or spiked. Kern is a first year Masters of Fine Arts candidate at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, with a Bachelor of Design in Photography from Alberta University of the Arts.
